Sue Tilley, a life long artist, has been a resident of Durango, Colorado since 1983.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fort Lewis College, Durango, in 1991 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art.
Ms. Tilley has studied art in France, Italy and Spain. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature,
where she was inducted into the Literary Honor's Society Sigma Tau Delta.
Her painting and sculptures are expressions of form. Since 1999, Ms. Tilley has carried her fine
art talents in to the commercial arena, to create works of art on walls, including murals and faux
finishes, in homes and businesses throughout the Four Corners. To date, Ms. Tilley
has completed over eighty five murals or wall projects.
Her faux finishes create moods of subtle color but can also recreate the look and feel of plaster,
rock, brick, limestone and marble. Her extensive works include distressed and stained wood, signs, painted
furniture and floors.
Ms. Tilley has also been an art instructor for 15
years at
San Juan College in Northwest New Mexico, and has taught at
Pueblo Community College, in Southwest Colorado.

Ms. Tilley has also been an artist-in-residence in the Bisti Writing Program in Bloomfield,
New Mexico School District.
Currently, Ms. Tilley is serving on the
Aztec Museum Historical Mural Project Board.
Additionally, Ms. Tilley recently completed a large mural project at a local business new location,
The Bunker, 4001 E. Main Street, Farmington, New Mexico.
The murals include a 20 ft wide American flag and a "Wall of Honor." Sue is the designer, supervisor
and art director of this project as well as lead painter. The project took 3 and a half months to complete.
